Symbolic Analysis

Dawn Perlmutter, Director of Symbol Intel, developed a method of criminal investigative analysis based on interpretive research methodologies and symbolic evidence found at crime scenes. ‘Symbolic Analysis’ differs from typical criminal profiling in that it is not based on psychological methods but on philosophical methodologies of semiotics, hermeneutics and phenomenology. This symbolic method of analysis has been applied to numerous ritualistic crime investigations and issues in the war on terrorism. This methodology is used in Symbol Intel’s intelligence and analysis research.
